About
This weekly-ish vegan blog is based on the food coming out of my (tiny) home kitchen in Toronto. After 25 years in this fascinating, multicultural city of 5 million, my tastebuds have learned that there's always a new flavour waiting to be experienced. That endless variety is what I'm trying to reflect in these posts.
My name is Tom, I'm an engineer during the day, and like many, I love to eat. I like the idea that eating vegan does not need to mean a life of endless plain tomato pasta and lettuce salads. The internet is jampacked with flavourful new ways of presenting vegetables, grains, beans, spices, herbs and all of the other ingredients that make vegan meals exciting. Grocery stores have recognized the growing number of herbivores among their customers and are starting to carry more ingredients. There has not been a better time go veggie.
Like I said at the top, I'm trying to add a new post every week, working around my day job. The process is a little circuitous because I usually need to tweak a recipe a few times before I would be comfortable making it for somebody else, let alone writing about it. I try to spare you the details of the less successful attempts, unless there's some valuable lesson to watch out for. If you have ideas or questions about a recipe, please comment at the bottom of the page. I'm always up for making things better.
And if you'd like to get in touch, please send a message to tom at <the name of this website> .com. I hope you enjoy.
